Chromebook Day

Yesterday was Chromebook Day - the best day of the school year - the day that 12 boys got to open up their very own Acer R11 Touchscreen!

After an important korero from Mr Burt about how lucky we are to be receiving such a precious taonga and how we need to always remember the kawa of care, we finally got to see for ourselves what our own Chromebook looked like.

Miss King put them out on our tables ready for us to open. First we opened the box and then we had a countdown before opening the lid on on our Acer R11 Touchscreen.

So far we are loving all the special features of this Chromebook. The 360 degree hinge that turns our laptop in to a tablet, the touchscreen which is awesome for drawing and how amazingingly fast is it.

Thank you so much Cyclone and Acer for our taonga. We promise to look after them and use them for some marvellous learning.

Beginning 2017

Drawing on our iPad
2017 has started with a hiss and a roar. Room 13 this year is comprised of 12 delightful young lads. Miss King feels very special and quite honoured to be teaching such an exclusive bunch.

The Taniwha
Farewell Our Sparrow Friend

So far, in just two days we've - had a funeral for a sparrow, shared delicious kai together, drawn some beautiful pictures, carried lots of wood, written a story, shared all about our whanau, created a taniwha, learnt about kaitiakitanga, danced, used our manners, read stories, laughed and used ALL of our Key Competencies.
It has most definitely been a busy few days, but Miss King is excited for the even busier days ahead.
