Coconut Oil
Nothing is hard when we remember who we are and where we come from - the Coconut Oil.
Lizzo and her amazing song has helped us remember that.

Karaoke Fun
What's better than singing?
Singing on a road trip with your friends!
Keyana put together the music track and chose the friends that she would love to karaoke with. We had a lot of fun making this movie and Keyana did a great job selecting the music and putting it all together.

2014 Manaiaklani Film Festival
I Can Do Anything - I said ANYTHING!
Class 12 are a character filled class of kids. As the year started we knew that we had special talents to share. Many of us love animating, others love acting and we all love showing off.
First up we spent lots of time understanding the lyrics and planning our animations. The drawing of each lyric took ages and ages, but we are proud of what we have created. Our acting was the most fun part, especially watching Justus perform in the band.
We really hope you enjoy our animated MTV.

The Swap - Manaiakalani Film Festival
Gloria, Kaycee and Tyla began writing the story for this movie back in May. Originally the story involved many characters with intertwined stories. It was really quite elaborate. Upon storyboarding the shots, the girls discovered that we needed far longer than 3minutes to be able to tell the complete story. Therefore, we decided to cut back the story to simply two of the characters but maintain the intertwined storyline as best we could.
The most fun part was certainly choosing songs to be able to convey the message and tell the story - we hope we did a good job.
Because of really clear storyboarding, filming was a breeze - not to mention having great actors in Isara and Tyla.
Editing really was the trickiest part of the whole process. After saving every fourth frame of the filming, importing the jpegs to Hyperstudio, they built an animation around each scene. This became quite confusing and certainly time consuming. The girls had to think really carefully about the scenes, the animation and the message.
Eventually each animation was imported into iMovie and the story began to take shape.
The whole process of putting together this movie was long and involved, but Miss King is super proud that we were able to tackle this new technique in movie making.

Today My Life Begins
All the kids in Room 13 had the chance to make movies for the Manaiakalani Film Festival. They had to form their own groups, plan, film and edit without any teacher help.
Miss King thought that they had all done such an amazing job, that on the last day of term 3, room 13 hosted their own film festival. All the movies that the kids had made were shown and we ate popcorn and had iceblocks and chocolate!
The two best movies were selected for the Manaiakalani Film Festival.
Well done to Iisa, Shalom, Sosaia, Jordan and Paula for all their hard work.

Net+Learning = Nearning
Room 13's entry into the Manaiakalani Film Festival for 2011.
What started as a Mockumentary, quickly turned into a crazy music video - strange unpredictable things often happen in Room 13! But we make sure to always have a good time - no matter what happens!
Levi, Rocky and Uili really made this movie with their amazing dance moves and fabulous outfit choices!

Never Say Never
Check out our movie that the MTV Fia Fia Group made with Miss King.
Lepa was the driving force behind choosing the song, drafting storyboards and creating some amazing animations.
It has now been shown at Hoyts Sylvia Park Cinema on the Extreme Screen, on November 11th 2010.
Dial 14 for AWESOME
This movie is Room 14's entry for the 2010 Manaiakalani Film Festival.
We toiled hard over the lyrics, created an awesome storyboard, recorded our song, filmed our movie and then it was painstakingly edited.
We all reckon we've done a good job - especially our teacher!
Thanks Mrs Burt for all your hard work in helping us get to showcase our work in a real life movie cinema.
